The Rain Came Down & Floods Came Up

Good Morning my amazing family and friends! It is such a beautiful morning here in Whitley, KY (: There's been a lot of flooding in TN, so hence the subject line haha

This week we had some pretty awesome lessons with amazing people! This week was also powerups so we got to spend the day with our super cool STLs (:

I found out my new favorite thing to do this week! On the app LDS Media they have hymns and EFY songs that are instrumental. I've started using that tool to sing to people and help invite the spirit in (: I love it. Also, in case anyone is curious, I've played guitar 4 times on my mission so far. My calluses are starting to weaken though.

Anyway I guess my spiritual thought this week is going to be on music. I'm the biggest believer that music is one of the best ways to invite and feel the spirit. The type of music we listen to can really affect our mood. Music either invites the spirit or offends the spirit. There is no in between. My challenge for anyone who is reading this email to pay attention to how you feel when you listen to your music. If you have music that you know you need to get rid of GET RID OF IT!!!!! Yes, I know, it has a catchy beat but the spirit is more important than a catchy beat. I would also challenge you this Sunday to try chastising your music. Instead of listening to your regular music try just listening to music that brings your thoughts towards the Savior. I promise it makes the sabbath more special of a day and you will see a change in your mood. Music is so powerful!!

I love you all and thank you so much for your emails and prayers! I really can't express how much I really appreciate y'all ♡ have a blessed week!

Shaking Hands With an Apostle!!

Hey y'all, hope you had a great valentines week and day!!

Mine was pretty great. I bought some Tootsie Rolls to give to kids while we were tracting so that made it really fun! The Christiansens also stopped by and gave me and Sister Jensen a rose (: We are so grateful for them <3

Yes, it is true! I got to meet and shake hands with an apostle!! It was Elder Gong (: I know what you're thinking; pictures or didn't happen. Well my mission hasn't given us the pictures yet so I'll have proof next week.
We had zone conference on Friday and it was a mission wide conference so everyone from the mission was there! With Elder Gong was his wife and Elder Terence M. Vincent of The Presidency of the Seventies and his wife and Elder Vern P. Stanfill of the Seventies and his wife. We also got to shake their hands (:
It was a really good mission conference! It was cool to see all the missionaries in our mission in the same room.
Before Elder Gong spoke he had us all stand up and he starting stretching and dancing with us! He is so hilarious!! One of my favorite things he said is "It's good to laugh because this is a gospel of joy!"
He talked about three things about being a better missionary. 1. Role & Purpose, 2. Faith & Skill, 3. Doctrine in Christ
1. Role & Purpose
-Take care of your companion. Help them become everything they and can be become and do it for 50 years!
-We become the most we can become when we turn outwards. We can't do this without His atonement
2. Faith & Skill
-If you want more people to enter in the waters of baptism talk to more people!!
-A goal by the Spirit is prophecy
-You can bring a horse to the water but can't make it drink, but who's to say you can't give the horse salt to make it want to drink
3. Doctrine In Christ
-There was a 70's during Christ's time
-Make sure everyone feels welcomed

On Sunday was Stake Conference and Elder Gong spoke in that too and of course, again, it was super good!!

I hope everyone is doing great! 10 minutes before mission conference was over we got the email that we can call our families every p-day!! It is such good news!!

Love everyone of you!! Thank you for your support and prayers <3

Love One Another

Hello my friends & family! I hope you had a wonderful week!

Monday: Me & Sister Jensen were tracting and she fell through a rotted porch! (Dont worry she's okay haha). Also when we were tracting we knocked at someone's house who's wife has cancer. He was kind of freaking out and we tried to tell him about the gospel but we got the door shut in our face. I had a prompting to start singing, so I did. As we were walking by the house to go to the next one I know he heard me singing because he opened his door and told us to be safe.

Tuesday was the Relief Society social and it was so fun! It was a service auction. Our only young woman came and her service was 11 hugs. I made sure I got that one! (: I also got a blessing from Elder Christiansen that day

Wednesday: We had some very powerful lessons

Thursday: We had district council

Friday: Did 5 hours of tracting. We found a lot of people!

Saturday: A lady told us she googled about our religion and  tried to tell us in a kind way that we're going to eternal darkness

Sunday: Had church (: Had to heart breakingly drop a person :(

Since this week is Valentine's day, I want to talk about love. In the gospel topics the definition of love is: a feeling of deep devotion, concern, and affection. The greatest example of God's love for His children is found in the infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Our Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ, love us more than we can possibly imagine. It's an unconditional love. Nothing in this universe can separate us from their love ♡

I love you all and hope you have a great Valentine's week! Remember the person who loves you enough to die for you. Also don't forget to tell the people you love that you love them ♡
