Bed Bugs, the ER, & Tender Mercies

If you know the saying "goodnight, sleep tight, dont let the bed bugs bite" well that saying is REAL 😂
Sister Campbell woke up with a lot of bug bites so we checked the bed and there were bugs literally crawling out of the mattress! So we slept in our living room. Luckily we had 2 couches (tender mercy). This was Wednesday night

Thursday morning was new missionary orientation which was so good! It was much needed and the spirit was so strong (tender mercy)

After orientation some of the office staff came to our apartment to help us get new mattresses and get rid of the old ones. That night we were suppose to clear everything from our bedroom so the exterminator could come the next day and see how bad the bed bugs were. Because of orientation and the bed bug situation we hadn't got any finding in that day so we decided to go tracting. We finished the street and found a person (tender mercy)! It started to rain really hard. We were heading back to the car as fast as we could so we could stay dry, but I got in the car too fast and hit my head on the car door and got a cut so bad I had to got to the ER. The whole time I was praying that I wouldn't have to get stitches. Luckily I did not! They just "superglued" it shut (tender mercy). Also the Elders in our ward bought us dinner (tender mercy). We got home that night and still had to take everything out in our room and spent the night on the couches again.

Friday morning we had to be out of our apartment by 8am and weren't allowed to come back in until they told us we could. But that morning we also had an amazing lesson with a referral! The spirit was so strong and he is so prepared and willing to learn (tender mercy) 😊.

We got a call that all the bed bugs were gone and that we were good to go back to the apartment! The exterminator said that they couldn't find any more traces of bed bugs. For some reason they only stayed in Sister Campbells mattress and never came to mine and they didn't spread out in the room. If they would've found more it would've been an $800 to get try to kill them all so this one was a big tender mercy.

Although this week was hectic, God was there through it all. There is always good in the bad, you just have to look for it. Even before writing this email I didn't realize how blessed we actually were this week. Even when times get hard the gospel is still true!! ♡

I love y'all! Thank you for your love, support, and prayers. Here's to a better week!

A pretty sick week

Guess what!? Happy looks good on you (;
This week was a pretty sick week because (wait for it) I pretty was sick (ba dum tisk) I'm feeling better though!

This week we found some awesome people! A lot of people were really friendly this week and I really appreciated it. It also finally stopped raining!

This week someone put anti on our windshield. Me and Sister Campbell were just laughing at how incorrect the anti material was 😂

This week was also zone conference which was amazing! It gave us that spiritual boost for the transfer (:

On Sunday I sang in church and I felt the spirit so strong! I love how music can bring the spirit so fast 😊

We can't ever really fully comprehend the pain that Christ went through when he performed the Atonement. I look back on hard times in my life and I know that the Savior was there during those times. I can't imagine what it was like for the Savior when he suffered alone. He didn't have anyone so we could have someone. There was no greater act of love performed on this Earth. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is there. Use it. He suffered so you don't have to. You are NEVER alone. I know that my Savior lives and that he died for me. He loves me and it is only through him that I can make it back to my Father in Heaven. I am so grateful for His sacrifice and the opportunity I have to share His love. You are a daughter or son of God. You are a brother or sister of Christ. This is who you are

I love y'all!! Hope you have a great week ♡

John Smith lol

Hello amazing friends (:

How are ya'll?

This week we were able to finally teach a lesson to a guy who we've been trying to meet with for a few weeks. Both times we got in contact with him he was driving with his dog while we were tracting and would always stop and say hi. We taught him the plan of salvation and he said it was new but it made sense! (: we gave him a Book of Mormon and he said he would read it.

We got bashed by a preacher in our car. I was about to pull out from the place I parked after tracting. A guy started walking towards us and he was in our way so we couldn't leave. He came to our car and we rolled down our window. He asked us if we were okay and we said we were and that we were just missionaries. Then he went off about how works don't get us into heaven. Then he realizes we weren't Jehovahs Witnesses and went off about how we need to stop following a man made religion. He told us we need to stop following John Smith and to come check out his church. I looked him dead in the eye and said "It's Joseph Smith" rolled up my window and left.

There was also a lady this week who let us in and gave us peaches and cottage cheese. We talked about how God with her and she has a pretty amazing story. She told us how she didn't feel like she was loved by anyone. Not by her husband, not by her kids. She just didn't really see a point in life. She decided she was going to go and take her life. She was in her bedroom with the gun on the floor trying to get her toe to shoot the gun off but for some reason it wouldn't go off. She screamed out "I just want to have it over with!" Then she heard a voice that said "(persons name), I love you." She yelled out "who is there!" She looked back and no one is was there.  She continued to try to shoot the gun. The voice came again "(persons name), you are my child and I love you so much and need you here on this Earth."
She then threw the gun to the side and sat in her bed and cried. She felt a warmth of arms around her but there was no one there. If this lady told me and Sister Campbell this story we were all crying. She told us even if we think no one loves us God does. He really does. God loves you so very much ♡

Thank you for your prayers because they are felt, thank you for your emails because they make my day, thank you for being in my life because I love you all!

6 months & training a new missionary!!! (June 3)

Hello friends!
It has been another nice week here in Tennessee. The weather has been in the 80s so I can't complain too much!
This Saturday was transfer calls and I will be staying in Melton Lake East (Clinton, TN) and I will be training a new missionary!! I'm super excited and super nervous Haha. Honestly I feel super inadequate to train so if you could say an extra prayer for me it would be much appreciated 😅 but all things through Christ right?

People weren't very receptive this week. We faced a lot of rejection, but that's okay because the work still goes on!

This week we met with a guy who met with us twice before. This last visit with him he told us that he has read the Book of Mormon, D&C, and he is about to be finished with the Pearl of Great Price!! He has a lot of questions and we're able to answer them. We asked him how he has come to know that the bible was true and he told us he prayed about it. We told him that's the key of knowing that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet (:

Someone else we were suppose to have an appointment with canceled on us but told us she has asked her grandparents, who are members, about our church and she is very intrigued and is excited to learn more and rescheduled with us

“Failure ceases to exist in the face of persistence.” ~Hartman Rector Jr. "Live above the law to be free" ensign January 1973
I remember in college my choir teacher would always would tell us that "the task ahead never gets easier but the person's ability to do the task gets better. Overall the task never changed but the person has"
The whole purpose of this Earth is progression and becoming better, but we are not alone. We have a loving Father in Heaven who thinks the eternities of us, we have a Savior, brother, and friend who died for us, overcame death, and is rooting for us, and we have the Holy Ghost who is ready to help guide us, teach us, and comfort us. They are all one in purpose, which is to help you progress, grow, and bring to pass the eternal life of men

I love you all! I'm grateful for the love and support ♡ Have a fantastic June!!
