Fireflies!! ✨

Hello friends! 😊 here a few highlights from this week:
-I saw fireflies for the first time!!

-We got someone on date!!!!!!!!!

-I got a tick in my ear

-We met someone who has had a restoration pamphlet since 2014 and lost contact with missionaries since then! Also it was funny because he was talking about how he played guitar and I told him I play it too! Then he was like "Oh! And you probably sing too! Sing Amazing Grace right now and I'll harmonize" So I started singing and he harmonized 😂 then he told me I better not move back to Utah because he needs a female vocalist lol

-We knocked on someone's door and started telling them about the Book of Mormon. They asked "WHERE THE HECK CAN I GET THIS BOOK!?" We then told her we were handing them out for free and she was like "Thank you! Thank you so so so much for this Book! Please come back! I'm so excited about this Book!" It was awesome! (:

This week was also interviews and Sister Pickett (my mission president wife) told us a great quote that I would like to share with y'all:
Marianne Williamson quotes

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I hope y'all have a great week!! Love you all ♡ thank you for everything!!

Satisfactory Condition

Hello friends 😊 another great week has passed by!

Tuesday we had district council and that night there was a Relief Society activity where we took pictures of graves and put it on an app called graves a million. My job was to hold a blanket so the sun would be blocked out. Afterwards we had treats by the lake and laughed a lot. It was so fun & the sunset on the lake was gorgeous!

Wednesday we were finding and came across this nice family who offered us water. They weren't interested in our message but they were still very kind. We got to the end of the street and I drank all the water. All the sudden I had to go to the bathroom really bad. Luckily the nice people who gave us the water were still outside and let me use their bathroom before we headed back to the car. I'm very grateful for them.

Thursday went to Rocky Top and ran into a fat Turkey. We were also able to teach some pretty good lessons that day

Friday we had powerups with the sister training leaders. It was way fun! Me & Sister Nichols went on a team up with a member but all the appointments fell through :( on the bright side we got chick-fil-a afterwards

Saturday we were still on powerups and had a baptism! I am so proud of her and I'm grateful that I got to teach her! She is just such an amazing person! The spirit was so strong at her baptism! :)
I also drove for the first time in almost 6 months and only got flipped of twice Haha

"however late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don’t have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ’s Atonement shines" ~Jeffrey R. Holland

I know this gospel is true! I love my job (: thank you for your emails, prayers, and support. Let me know if I can do anything for y'all

Commitment Keeping is My Love Language

Happy Birthday to my older Sister who turned 22 yesterday and hopefully blasted up some Taylor Swift!!
Also Happy Mothers day to the best mom in the world!! I truly am blessed with best 😊♡

On Monday we weren't able to have pday with our district so we spent our day at the stake assembly building. It was just me & my companion until someone showed up. We were wondering who it was and it ended up being someone who spent 4 hours looking for our church because she's a member and just moved and had no clue where the church was. Luckily we were there and we were able to tell her what time church was and where at. God works in mysterious ways Haha

Tuesday was Zone Conference which was so good! We had Elder Costa come and speak to us. He is one the longest serving general authorities in the church! He had us all come and shake his hand (: it was a really good uplifting zone conference

One of the days this week we were knocking doors by the lake. There were some geese and little feeders for them, so we decided to feed the geese. We would feed them then they would start  hissing at us! 😂

We also had a neat experience where a guy passed by us in a car and asked if we needed a ride. We said we were good then started talking to him. He told us how he was taking his dog for a ride and how he was angry at God. We then started telling him about the Plan of Salvation and asked if we could come over and teach him more. He paused for a second and I was expecting him to say no but then he said "Yeah, I think I'd like that." I have a good feeling about him (:

"Life is never a failure until we call it such" ~President Gordan B. Hinkley
This week we were talking to a religious lady who believed Adam & Eve screwed it up for everyone and that we did not exist before we were born. That was honestly one of the saddest things I've ever heard of and I am very passionate about this topic because it is so important. God did not set us up for failure!! God did not just put us on the Earth and say "I'll check up on ya every once in a while" that is not the case at all! God is constantly in our lives, he is constantly watching after us, he is constantly aware of us, and he wants us to succeed. He knew we would mess up and that is why he set up a perfect plan with Jesus Christ as our Savior. We lived with God before and we can live with him again. He knows us. He knows our name. He knows our potential. I know that we did live with God before we were sent to this Earth and we aren't here just by chance. I know that it was part of God's plan for Adam and Eve to partake of the fruit and it was a good thing. I know that Christ suffered for us so we could succeed. I know we are here to become like our Father in Heaven and can make it back to him someday

I love y'all & have a blessed week!!

The Strawberries After the Storm 🍓

Here's a not so secret secret I'm going to let you in on today... You are a child of God!!

This week was full of ups and downs, but when we had a down it was always counteracted with an even better up (:
For example: we got cussed out by a guy on one door; then the next door we tried a guy told us to sit down got us some drinks, some strawberries, and genuinly listened to what we had to say. We were able to teach him the Plan of Salvation and he told us it made sense 😊
We were also having a non successful day one day and we talked to this guy who was headed to a bread store. When he came back we were still tracting his neighborhood and he stopped, rolled down his window, and insisted we take some bread! Haha it was the best!

On Saturday the Elders in our ward had a baptism and it was super awesome! The spirit was so strong and afterwards we all went out to eat at Panda Express with the person who was baptized

This week I've been studying temples. Which is super cool because I heard the announcements that couples dont have to wait a year if they've been married civilly to enter the temple! This is big and I'm so excited for all those couples who can now be sealed together sooner!!
In gospel topics under temples it says: "Everything in the Church—the meetings and activities, the missionary efforts, the lessons taught and the hymns—all lead to the work done in holy temples."
I remember before coming out I went with my parents to do sealings in the temple. The person who was doing the sealings found out it was my first time doing them and that I was leaving for a mission so he made it a special session. One of the things he told me was "Yes, baptisms are going to be important on your mission, but this should be the reason why you go on a mission. To help families be sealed for eternity. Nothing is more important than being sealed with your family for forever and helping others do the same"
It's hard to even put into words how much appreciation I have for the knowledge of being with my family for forever. One of my favorite quotes is "a missionary is someone who leaves their family for 18 months so families can be together for forever" ♡

I hope May is a great month for y'all! Thank you for your prayers, love, and support! Until next week 🤟
