My God, My Portion, & My Love

Every week of the mission is always full of so many miracles. The hand of the Lord is definitely in this work. I know this to be true

We had zone conference this week and honestly it was probably my favorite zone conference. The main topic was light and having other people, including ourselves, recognize our light. We also talked about vision & how necessary it is to have something to work towards

We also went on powerups this week (which is when the Sister Training Leaders come and we swap companions for a day) I was with Sister Perkins and she is such an amazing missionary! We decided before we would knock a street we would pray to know how many people the Lord wanted us to find on the street. We both felt the number 3 and we ended up finding those 3 people on the street!

This Sunday we had the Nashville Temple president and his wife speak during sacrament meeting. Their testimonies were so strong. They said that by 2026 the church plans to have 300 announced. That's 8 temples per general conference

We also had the opportunity on Sunday to take the sacrament with some ward members to other members who were home bound. It was my first time participating in a home sacrament meeting. There definitely is a special spirit. I'm grateful for the priesthood power and examples in my life

Y'all are on my mind very often. I pray for you. I love you. Truthfully I haven't really felt homesickness on my mission but it's starting to seep in, but I'm grateful for your prayers that are said in my behalf.  I can feel them and there is strength in them.  I'm grateful for all the letters and emails I receive. I don't think you know how much of an impact they have on my week. I love y'all ♡

🚗🌱🚕💪🧒🏼

Hey! I hope everyone had a good Valentine's week and ate a lot of chocolate!

This week we had transfers! There is a new rule that members can't drive us to transfers so me and Sister Horan just went on a small exchange until our new companions got to our areas. I love Sister Horan so much ♡ and I also love my new companion, Sister Davis 😊

So we ended up getting stuck in the mud on our first day. It was a miracle because, as we were waiting, a bus drove by and was like "are y'all stuck" and we said we were. He yelled for all the boys to get out and help push. They pushed and we were able to get out! (They don't have a bus emoji so I had to use a taxi emoji instead lol)

We've been working with some pretty good people! God is really blessing us. Prayers are always much appreciated especially that we'll be safe because it gets dark around 6pm and we can,t go in until 9pm and sometimes it's a struggle to figure out what to do in the dark. Needless to say I can't wait til daylight savings.

I read this quote about charity on Valentine's day and thought I would share:
“The greater definition of ‘the pure love of Christ,’ however, is not what we as Christians try but largely fail to demonstrate toward others but rather what Christ totally succeeded in demonstrating toward us. True charity has been known only once. It is shown perfectly and purely in Christ’s unfailing, ultimate, and atoning love for us. It is Christ’s love for us that ‘suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not.’ It is his love for us that is not ‘puffed up … , not easily provoked, thinketh no evil.’ It is Christ’s love for us that ‘beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.’ It is as demonstrated in Christ that ‘charity never faileth.’ It is that charity—his pure love for us—without which we would be nothing, hopeless, of all men and women most miserable. Truly, those found possessed of the blessings of his love at the last day—the Atonement, the Resurrection, eternal life, eternal promise—surely it shall be well with them. …
Life has its share of fears and failures. Sometimes things fall short. Sometimes people fail us, or economies or businesses or governments fail us. But one thing in time or eternity does not fail us—the pure love of Christ”

I love y'all! Hope y'all have a great week! Thank you for your love, support, and prayers!

We Dyed My Hair 💁‍♀️

Hey y'all!!!!! This week was a rollercoaster! We started out on Monday with 70° then on Wednesday has so much rain we had a warning for a flashflood, then on Friday there was a snow storm, then on Saturday it was nice and sunny again!

Transfer calls were on Saturday & I will be staying in Jamestown and getting a new companion! I'm excited for this next transfer! I feel like good things are going to come!

So this week I had my first bash where we literally had to just walk away from the porch because the person just wouldn't stop. We were halfway down the road and you could still hear the person yelling. He was saying how we didn't believe in the same Jesus Christ and how he taught a class against our religion. He tried inviting us inside while he was yelling at us so he could talk to us more about how wrong we were, and we were like no we're not going to come in. We turned around and just starting walking away and he was like "THATS NOT WHAT JESUS WOULD DO IM OFFERING MY HOUSE AND YOURE JUST WALKING AWAY 😡 YOURE GOD IS FROM KOLOB!!!!!!!!"  It's like dude! of course we're not going to come in your house if you're yelling at us and we're not going to come in for you to try to destroy our faith. Anyway we left that street and picked a new street and the first door we knocked on was a very nice person who was interested in a message. When things get tough it just means something great is about to happen. A blessing is in the corner.

Also Sister Burch dyed my hair 😊 it's only a shade or 2 darker but I personally really like it because my hair got sun dyed during the summer and we were able to fix it!

Have a great Valentines week! The day after Valentines day candy is 50% off so take advantage of that 😉 Love y'all!!!!

Guitar at a Catholic Church

Hey y'all! In case nobody's told you, you look great today 😉

Sooo this week was interesting. We've had miracles happen though and people have told us they'd like us to come back and want to learn more (:

Sometimes I forget to explain the titles of my weeklies and I apologize. This week is a funny one though 😂 I actually ended up playing the guitar at a Catholic church this week!

Background: There is someone who we work with at the food bank. They found out I played the guitar and so they invited me to play a hymn with them at their church because they play the organ. We settled on playing Amazing Grace. We thought it was going to be a Baptist church but it was a Catholic church lol. It was definitely different but a learning experience, I'll stick to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints though (;

I've been thinking a lot this week about how everyone is going through something in this moment. You can look at anyone in this world and see that they have been through something hard. I've learned for that reason we should all be a little bit kinder to everyone. We are all children of God!
