Goodbye Tennessee

Wow. I cannot believe I'm actually writing this email. I really relate to that Nashville Tribute Band song "The Hardest Thing I've Ever Loved to Do."

Some quick events of the week is we were staying in a hotel because we were opening up a new area. The 2nd night we were there, there was someone who banged on our door and we heard them aggressively try to get into our suite at 5am and they did this twice. We caught a glimpse of who it was and it was an older man with a beard and a blue shirt. To say the least we were not happy and we tried to call the hotel manager twice but it said his number was invalid. We called our district leader and our missionary coordinator for housing and thankfully that day he had found us an apartment to live in so we were able to move out. We also had members offer us their house to stay in if our apartment wasn't ready that day but everything worked out and we were able to move out of that sketchy hotel. We are safe in our apartment now. Thank goodness

Well the last year and a half has not been the least of what I expected to be. Between cockroaches, bed bugs, ticks, ER trips, tornadoes, Covid, crazy people, questioning, heartbreaking events, being bashed, humidity, and almost being being broken into, to shanking hands with an apostle, gaining a solid testimony, meeting the worlds best people, making life long best friends, going to the temple, finding who I am, finding my Savior, being so happy you cry, peeing your pants from laughing too hard, random EFY dance parties, green trees, southern BBQ, pranks, inside jokes, cute dogs, cats, squirrels, and possums, southern accents, southern phrases that make you smile, softened hearts, spiritual understanding, answered prayers, and serving Gods children. It is how I can say I have a solid testimony.

I have an undoubtable testimony. I know the Book of Mormon & Bible are true. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I know Joseph Smith restored the gospel on the Earth because the Earth was in a state of Apostasy. I know we have a prophet today who leads and guides us. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the same church Jesus Christ set up when He was on the Earth. It is the only church with the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the proper authority to perform ordinances. I know that Gods power is on the Earth. I know that God has not forgotten us and the heavens are open. I know that through the Holy Ghost we can know the truth of all things. I know that the plan of salvation is real. I know we lived with our Heavenly Father in the premortal world. I know that he is our loving Heavenly Father. I know that Adam & Eve did not make mistake and doom us all. I know we are here to learn and progress so we can make it back to our Savior. I know that Jesus Christ wasn't the back up plan but was always the plan! I know he suffered in the garden of Gethsemane for us. I know that he felt all our pains and afflictions. I know that he loosed the bands of death and makes it possible to repent and made it possible for us to all have resurrected bodies. I know that death is not the end. I know that after we die we go to the spirit world. I know a loving Heavenly Father makes it possible for everyone to have a fair chance to return to him. I know we will be judged one day. I know that we can make it back to our Father in Heaven who dwells in the Celestial Kingdom if that is our desire. I know it's through making and keeping covenants. I know that we will have eternal families. I know faith can move mountains. I know we can repent through Jesus Christ and become better. I know that baptism by proper authority is an essential ordinance to get back to our Father in Heaven. I know that after baptism we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost who really is our comforter, warner, teacher, friend, and guidance. I know that God has a resurrected body. I know that God the Father, and his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three separate beings but are one in purpose. I know that all of this is true. I will stand by this testimony for the eternities.

I'm so grateful for this time the Lord has given me. I'm grateful that He gave me this call, though I wasn't perfect, and failed so many times I'm grateful that He still trusted me with this sacred privilege. I'm grateful that He called me to the Tennessee Knoxville mission. I'm grateful for being able to serve His children. I'm so grateful for the love, emails, letters, prayers, support, I have received these past 18 months. I'm so grateful for y'all. I'm so grateful for my mission. I'm grateful for my Savior. I'm so very much truly blessed, saved, and changed by grace

Reassigned For a Week...

Imagine this: It's a normal Saturday morning. You are getting ready to have transfer calls again because new assigned missionaries are coming. You're sitting comfy in your chair thinking there is no way anything will happen to you because
1. You were just transferred and had been there for just 3 weeks
2. In a week you will be leaving home. For good. Back to Utah. IN A WEEK
Seems legit to think that nothing is going to happen. Well then the surprise happens. On the call you are told NOT ONLY ARE YOU GETTING A NEW COMPANION WHO IS A REASSIGNED MISSIONARY BUT YOU WILL ALSO BE OPENING AN AREA 😂😅😂😅😂😅 Lol it will be funny telling my companion that we will only be companions for a week

In other news we killed a wasp that was in our room this week. That was fun

Anyway here's a paragraph I read in my studies this week: “Patience is not passive resignation, nor is it failing to act because of our fears. Patience means active waiting and enduring. It means staying with something and doing all that we can—working, hoping, and exercising faith; bearing hardship with fortitude, even when the desires of our hearts are delayed. Patience is not simply enduring; it is enduring well! …"
Shoot did you feel chastised like I did after reading that? Maybe we all can be a little more patient

I love y'all! Hope it is a fantastic week! I will see y'all next Thursday ♡🙂

Samuel the Centipede

Hey! What is up! This week was good! Lots of miracles and great things happening! Some good laughs too (:

This week was zone conference and we wore our masks the whole time except for when we were speaking. Gratefully I was giving my departing testimony so I got 5mins to breathe! It was nice to see everyone and say goodbye to some

On Thursday we wanted pizza and we had a frozen Walmart pizza and some of it ended up falling on the rack and there was a fire! Luckily it burned out and the pizza still tasted good!

We also found a centipede in our shower and named it Samuel. It was too fast for us to catch so it escaped!

President Marion G. Romney (1897–1988) of the First Presidency: “I remember that a long time ago, over sixty years in fact, when Elder Melvin J. Ballard laid his hands on my head and set me apart to go on a mission, he said in the blessing he gave me that a person could not give a crust to the Lord without receiving a loaf in return. And that has been my experience”

It's so true. If you give the Lord a crust he WILL give you a loaf in return. We just need to have the faith to give the crust

Thank y'all for your support and prayers! I will see y'all soon
