WOAH! We're Halfway There!!

Hello friends & family!! This last week was so good!!

On Wednesday I will be hitting 9 months! Halfway! Where is the time going??

Transfer calls were this week and I will be going to Cookeville, Tennessee! I'm excited but I will also miss Clinton TN. I will never forget the 6 months that I've spent here ♡

Story time: We have this one guy on date. Last time we talked with him, his wife wasn't too keen on him getting baptized. He texted us on Tuesday and told us his wife wanted to talk to us. Me & Sister Bateman were like "Uh oh. She's going to tell us we need to stop teaching her husband."
We went over to their house and the wife sat us down and said "Girls we have a problem." My. Heart. Dropped. I was waiting for her to say "My husband's not going to get baptized" but instead she told us about the medical issues that have been going on. She then told us "I need laying on of hands."  Me and Sister Bateman were shocked! We told her that we would be by the next day with some brethren who could give her a blessing.
The next day we went over and one of the brethren told his conversion story before they gave the blessing. They gave her the blessing and she was crying! The spirit was so strong! The brethren left and we were on the couch talking to the wife. We told her that she could have this peaceful feeling, which is the Holy Ghost, with her at all times. We asked her if she would like that and she said "yes." We then asked her if she would be baptized and she said yes! She also told us that something that the brother said in his conversion story stuck out to her! We set a date for her to be baptized!!!
I have a tradition of if we get someone on date we go get donuts. As we were on our way to get donuts I was just filled up with so much joy that I started crying.

There is a special spirit that comes with truth. Because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church it has that special spirit. Nothing else can replicate that feeling. I know that this is the true church. I know that the God's power (the priesthood) has been restored to this Earth. I will never forget this experience from this week.

Thank you for your love, prayers, & support. Miracles are happening in the Tennessee Knoxville mission! Love yuns ♡

12 String Guitar

This week was good! We had someone we're teaching come to church! Me & Sister Gray went on a power up this week! It was so fun! (: we also found this really awesome lady this week! We were able to talk to her about the Atonement and the healing power it brings

This week was also one of my favorite people's birthday! We got to go to dinner with her and she's just so freakin' amazing ♡

We went over to a part member families house to grab some water and they had a 12 string guitar! Also one of them has a recording set up so on pday I got to record some music at their house!

During personal study this week I really pondered on the question of "who am I?"
As a response I started making a list of "I am" and would fill in the blank. I could only think of 5 things.

Little bit frustrated I decided I would turn to my Patriarchal Blessing and do the same activity  but this time seeing who God thinks I am.

I was able to come up with 18 "I am's"

This was really an eye opening experience for me. When I can't see my potential God can see it. He knows who we really are. He knows our strengths that we can't see in ourselves. He will help us see and reach our potential of who we want to be ♡

Hope y'all have a great week!!

It Is Well With My Soul

I have witnessed a miracle this week! We have been teaching someone and we had a ride set up for church for him to come to church. The people came to pick him up and he never answered. We were quite frustrated and decided to go see him that day. He told us he wasn't able to make it to church because he was in the hospital but he was back to health and really wants to try for next week. We were able to talk to him about the Word of Wisdom, which we were nervous for. We started teaching him and asked him he'd be willing to obey the word of Wisdom so he could be baptized and he said yes! He didn't even question why he couldn't drink coffee or tea but was willing to right away start quitting. It was amazing!

On Saturday we got to help out with an activity days activity where they learned about the temple. It was so fun and our job was to make the waffles 😂 later that day we went to a Jehovahs Witness service because someone we tracted into invited us and said a special speaker was coming. The people were super nice but me & Sister Bateman came to the conclusion that it felt more like a seminar or Ted talk than it felt spiritually uplifting. The spirit just was not present at the meeting. That strengthened my testimony that this really is the true church because I can't think of a sacrament meeting where I haven't felt the spirit. Also it made my heart hurt knowing that they don't have the opportunity of taking the sacrament each week.

There's some lyrics of a song that have really stuck in my head: "You say that I should come to you with everything I need
You're asking me to thank you even when the pain is deep"
I was thinking about how often I complain to God about my problems and I never thought to thank him for them before. I also realized I haven't been coming to him for EVERYTHING I need. I need to improve and become better. Trials are hard but I'm excited to look back and see the person I became because of my trials. I also realized lately the importance of not just going through the motions but paying attention to my actions and the why behind it.

I love hearing about your lives and getting letters. Easiest way to make my day ♡ thank y'all for your prayers, love, and support

Warning: you might laugh 😸

This week was a pretty good week!

I want to start the blog off by a story I read from an ensign article: "If We Can Laugh at It, We Can Live with It" By Brad Wilcox
Here's the story: "On another occasion Sister Jones learned of a General Authority who had received a handmade get-well card while recovering from bypass surgery. On the front of the card, the child, a second-grader, had drawn a rectangular black box representing a coffin, with a flower poking out of the center. Inside he had printed in big letters, “Hope you get well soon, but if not, have fun.” After a hearty laugh, Sister Jones wrote down that account as well"

I laughed so hard reading that 😂

Anyway this week we were able to get someone on date!! Also we were able to do service for a member and we're helping her clean out her basement. She asked us what shoe size we wear (I'm a 6 #smallfeet) and she told me she has a pair of Chocos that she's been wanting to get rid of and that I could have them!

Zone conference was also this week and it was sooooo good! Here are some quotes:
-"The expiration date of your testimony of the Book of Mormon lasts only one day. We need to read it everyday!!"
-"The Lord blesses you for the small things"
-"People don't care how much know til they know how much you care"

Also Elder and Sister Christensen went home this week. I'm going to miss them so much! They are such amazing people ♡

To end, here is one of my all time favorite quotes: "Find happiness in ordinary things, and keep your sense of humor"

Love y'all! Hope this week is great! Strengthen your testimony everyday! God is anxiously waiting to bless you. He loves you! I love you! 😊
