"It's the small things" 😄😂

Hey yuns! Have y'all been fixin to do anything fun this week? I reckon that this was a good week!

You know how we hit our car on a pole last week? Well we got a new car and it's a 2019 Rav4! "Sometimes it's the small things like getting a new car" ~Sister Horsley 😂

There's a donut place in town that everyone told us to try. We tried it and it wasn't as good as everyone hyped it up to be. If you are ever in Cookeville Tn just know that Ralph's is better than Big O's.

We were able to get in contact with some people who we thought ghosted us. We also were able to contact some people that we found. Here's an awkward story for the week: an old man kissed me and Sister Horsley on the cheek. ☠

There are these cute girls who are in a part member family and we have been teaching them! We were able to watch Book of Mormon videos with them. ❤ Our ward also had a fish fry and it was so good! So many people came!!

This week I want to shake things up and I'm going to ask you to send me your testimony this week! Send it at kari.warburton@missionary.org

Y'all are my favorites! The real MVPs! The real OGs! Have a great week ♡ also a huge thank you to my home ward for sending me those letters! They made my week 🌼

The Bananas After the Storm!!

I'm tired about complaining about the heat so instead of complaining about how it will be October and 90 degrees, I'm going to just say how thankful I am for AC 😁

At the moment we don't really have anyone who's progressing. Everytime we think someone is they send us a text telling us that they don't want to learn more 😞

A cool experience is I got to meet a part member family and I could've sworn a week before I had a dream about the member's son (who is not a member) and in the dream I was asking him to get baptized... so maybe hopefully that was revelation!?

There was a really kind lady who gave us bananas. We had just got done with a street where people weren't the nicest so we decided to go to a different street. She let us in and gave us water and bananas. It was a blessing! Also that day someone gave us the advice of "Don't sweat the petty stuff and dont pet the sweaty stuff" lol

General conference is coming soon and I am so excited!! Also check out the Book of Mormon video if you haven't already! Fridays are now my 3rd favorite day! (Aside from Sunday & Pday)

Matthew 11 says
28 ¶ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light

Sometimes life is chaotic and it's easy to forget that we have the Savior there as a support system. I have a hard time surrendering my all to the Lord but when I do it, that promise of finding rest & peace always stands true. "Life is not just to be endured but enjoyed!"

I love you all. Each of you. Individually. I think of you often and pray for you. I'm grateful for all your love prayers and support and I remember them when times are hard. Every letter anyone has written me on the mission is hung up in my bathroom so I can read them when I get down on myself. I can't thank y'all enough ♡

Sister Horsley was like "it's perfect lighting so I'm going to take a picture of you!" She is a great photographer
Just being cute

When summer first started I thought to myself how I would just have to get through one summer. It is the middle of September and still in the 90's. I don't know if it will ever cool down here.

Honestly this area is struggling. It's been really difficult to get return appointments. Prayers are always appreciated. We found some awesome people this week though, so maybe things will start looking up. Plus we found a frozen yogurt shop in our area so things are starting to look up.

Also zone conference was on Tuesday 😊

The Prophet Joseph Smith said:
“A religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation; for, from the first existence of man, the faith necessary unto the enjoyment of life and salvation never could be obtained without the sacrifice of all earthly things"
This church requires a lot of sacrifice. I think of it's history and also of the present day. It's just a testimony to me that this really is the true church on the Earth today. God sacrificed his Only Begotten Son. How much more do we have a need to sacrifice?

Have a great week! Thank you for your love & support ♡

Happy Birthday to my best friend!!!

Bonjour! Comment allez vous?
Je vais bien merci!

First off I would like to say Happy Birthday to Cassidy Bryant!! Yesterday was her birthday (: She has been one of the greatest blessings in my life and I thank God everyday that I know her ♡

I don't like to make my emails long because I know that everyone has busy lifes and your sacrificing to read my email so here are a few of the highlights:

-Rickey (a guy I taught in my last area) got baptized! I was able to Skype into the baptism and he was glowing!

-WE GOT SOMEONE ON DATE!!! It was a very strange way, but we had a lesson with him and invited him to baptism and he rolled his eyes. We then got a text from him later that day and he said "Dec 22. If I get an answer that this is true I will get baptized on Dec 22 and if not I'm going to drop y'all" so we're praying he will get a confirmation and move up the date

-It was 8:30 at night and so we were just leaving cards on doors if it looked like people were asleep. We left one at a guy's house we came home like 2 houses later and he yelled "dont leave a card in my door!" Like your 2 houses too late?? We already left a card at his door. He then left a voicemail about how we need to get a life and stay out of people's doors and not leave our religious *beep* on his door. We had a pretty good laugh about that lol

-We had powerups and I was with Sister O'Hara. I was her first power up so it was super fun! We knocked doors for 6.5 hours and got Mexican icecream 😊 that night there was a Diamond Rio concert literally happening a block away from us (They sing the song "One more day") but we're consecrated missionaries so we didn't attend the concert 🙏 funfact though: one of the band members is a memeber of our church so that's cool (: also BYU beat Knoxville at football!!!!

Today I came across the scripture:
Matthew 19:17
"And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."
That scripture stood out to me because it shows that Christ was humble enough to give ALL the glory to his Father. If people called Christ good then he would tell them it is God who is good and I am just doing my Fathers will. We can always strive to be a little more humble 😊

Have a great week y'all! Get pump(kin)ed because fall is coming. I. Love. Fall love y'all too ♡

"How do you pronounce your last name?"

First off congratulations to Marie & Carson for getting engaged. I'm excited to have a brother in law

Transfers were this week and I am in Cookeville TN which means I am in a different time zone from the rest of the mission Haha

I'm still trying to get to know the area. So far people have been nice. Someone even gave us ice-cream while we were knocking doors. It was awesome!

I can't really think of anything else to write. Here's the spiritual thought I wrote this week: I feel that too many missionaries put on a front that everything is all sunshine and roses all the time. Before I was on the mission I didn't realize how hard being a missionary really is. Wanting  to fix people's problems but all you can do is pray for them, feeling homesick, disappointment of not hitting a goal, getting cussed at & yelled at, getting bashed every. Single. Day. (Got to love the bible belt), getting bit by dogs, 50 million bug bites, getting pushed beyond you limits, etc.

But because I have felt the greatest amount of pain I have also felt the greatest amount of joy. I have never felt the scripture "There is opposition in all things" more. The feeling of joy when it clicks for someone, serving, being the reason someone has a better day, laughing your head off, feeling the spirit so strong that you feel like you could literally move a mountain, the life long friendships you make, learning the true meaning of charity, the list goes on and on and it always out-weighs the bad.

I have never been so miserable but yet so happy in my life. My source of strength is my Savior and without him it's not possible to endure to the end. If you're a missionary or not he is ALWAYS the source of strength and peace.
