Did Someone Say Guitar?

Hey! How was y'alls week? Mine was pretty great. It was cold but then it got warm again (: we experienced 9 degree weather on Monday then it jumped to 50 on Friday. Lol welcome to Tennessee weather!!

This week was full of miracles and the Lord's hand has definitely been in this week. One of my favorites was I was craving a reese's and when me and Sister Burch were walking back from tracting a member drove by and picked us up and gave us a reese's!!

We were also finding and found a waterfall and an old abandon car as we were knocking doors!
Romans 12
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

I love how this chapter talks about loving your enemies. Christ loved his persecutors and he has asked us to do the same. I've learned how important it is to still be kind to people even if it's not reciprocated. You can never be too kind.

Stay safe. I love you. If anyone needs anything like a letter or someone to listen or a prayer please let me know. I'm here for you

THE WEIRDEST THING I'VE EVER EATEN

Ask me what the weirdest thing I've ever eaten is 😉 lol

This week was good! We had interviews and zone conference! The weather has also gotten colder but will be going back to the 50s towards the middle of the week 🤞

Last week on powerups we met a guy who was super into family history but would not accept a Book of Mormon. We went back this last week and talked to him more and it softened his heart to the Book and he accepted a copy (:

This is a long quote but it is good!!:
“To any who may be struggling … , I say: Hold on. Keep trying. God loves you. Things will improve. Christ comes to you in His ‘more excellent ministry’ with a future of ‘better promises.’ He is your ‘high priest of good things to come.’
“I think of newly called missionaries leaving family and friends to face, on occasion, some rejection and some discouragement and, at least in the beginning, a moment or two of homesickness and perhaps a little fear.
“I think of young mothers and fathers who are faithfully having their families while still in school—or just newly out—trying to make ends meet even as they hope for a brighter financial future someday. …
“I think of those who want to be married and aren’t, those who desire to have children and cannot, those who have acquaintances but very few friends, those who are grieving over the death of a loved one or are themselves ill with disease. I think of those who suffer from sin—their own or someone else’s—who need to know there is a way back and that happiness can be restored. I think of the disconsolate and downtrodden who feel life has passed them by, or now wish that it would pass them by. To all of these and so many more, I say: Cling to your faith. Hold on to your hope. ‘Pray always, and be believing’ [D&C 90:24]. Indeed, as Paul wrote of Abraham, he ‘against [all] hope believed in hope’ and ‘staggered not … through unbelief.’ He was ‘strong in faith’ and was ‘fully persuaded that, what [God] had promised, he was able … to perform’ [Romans 4:18, 20–21]. …
“… Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come”

Thank you for your emails, letters, and support. I know I've been out long enough for people to start to forget that I exist but I'm grateful for all the little things everyone has done. I would probably be devoured by a dog if it weren't for all y'all prayers. I love y'all!! ♡

GOOD WEEK

Hello! This week was so good!! We set a goal to find 8 people this week and we ended up finding 12!

Some cool stories from this week:
This week we went on powerups (powerups is when our Sister Training leaders come to our area and we switch companions for the day). Me and the Sister I went ended up getting our car stuck in the mud! 😅 we tried to push it out but it wasn't working. We then prayed and got the impression to knock some houses and ask for help. We knocked the first one and no one was home. We then knocked a second one and they said they would come and help! We were able to get it unstuck! We tried to share the Book of Mormon with them but they weren't interested in our message. We are so thankful that he came out and helped us though ♡

The other day we had a lesson with someone I had not met yet. We went on a team up with a member and the member ended up knowing the person we were teaching! We had a plan to teach the restoration but during the lesson we both felt prompted to share the Plan of Salvation. The lesson was so good and when we told her that we lived with Heavenly Father before this life her face lit up! It was so awesome! It's moments like those that make being a missionary worth it!

"Sometimes we are tempted to let our lives be governed more by convenience than by covenant" I really liked that quote. Sometimes it's easy just to live a comfortable life. There is no growth in your comfort zone!!

10 minute driveway!!

Hey y'all!! So this week was transfers! I am with Sister Burch in Jamestown! Jamestown is awesome! Haha it's in the boonies so its like 90% walking and 10% knocking on doors, but people are so nice!

Yesterday we actually knocked on a house church. They invited us to come in and pray with them. One of the ladies standing next to me was "overcome" by the spirit and she started shaking and shouting. Then when they prayed they started speaking in tongues 😬 they were super nice though

I found this quote in the institute manual when I was reading this week and I really liked it

“Be careful how you characterize yourself. Don’t characterize or define yourself by some temporary quality. The only single quality that should characterize us is that we are a son or daughter of God. That fact transcends all other characteristics, including race, occupation, physical characteristics, honors, or even religious affiliation. …
“We have our agency, and we can choose any characteristic to define us. But we need to know that when we choose to define ourselves or to present ourselves by some characteristic that is temporary or trivial in eternal terms, we de-emphasize what is most important about us, and we overemphasize what is relatively unimportant. This can lead us down the wrong path and hinder our eternal progress”

Good things are going to happen here in Jamestown! I'm so excited for this transfer! I also hope y'all had a great new year! Make 2020 the best! (: I love y'all so much! Let me know if any of y'all need anything ♡
